Laptop Motherboards
Laptop Motherboards covers replacement system boards for business laptops, tablets and 2-in-1s. HP boards fit the EliteBook 2170p, 810, 840 G2, Folio 9470m and 9480m, ProBook 450 G3, 640 G3 and 6470b, ZBook 15u G2 and Slate 10 tablets. Lenovo boards fit the ThinkPad T440p, X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga, Yoga 720 and Miix 2, and Dell boards fit Latitude systems such as the 5480. Most have the processor soldered on, so the CPU is part of the listing.

Buying guide
Choosing a laptop board
The CPU comes with the board
With a soldered processor, the board you order decides the CPU. A board with a faster processor for the same model is how these laptops get a CPU upgrade.
Serial and model data
After the swap, the laptop's serial number and product details may need writing to the new board with the manufacturer's DMI tool so BIOS updates, drivers and warranty lookups recognize it.
Move the extras
Boards usually ship without heatsink, fan, memory or SSD unless the title says so, as on the X1 Carbon board sold with its heatsink. Plan to move those across.

Frequently asked questions
What does UMA mean on a laptop board?
Unified memory architecture: the graphics are built into the processor and share system memory. Boards for discrete-graphics versions of the same laptop carry a separate GPU, and the two aren't interchangeable.
Which replacement board matches my laptop?
Search the number printed on the failed board's label, or enter the laptop's serial number in the manufacturer's parts lookup. Boards for one model differ by processor, graphics and WWAN support, so match all three.
Are tablet boards included?
Yes. Boards for HP Slate 10 EE and Lenovo Miix 2 tablets are listed alongside laptop boards. Tablet boards usually have memory and storage soldered on.
