Laptop Screens
Laptop Screens covers LCD panels and complete display assemblies. HP makes up most of the range: screens for the ProBook 4540s, 4740s and 6470b, EliteBook 2740p, 2760p, 8770w and Revolve 810, Envy 17 and Envy x360 touch assemblies, and Pavilion 15 touch screens. Dell Inspiron panels are listed too. Listings differ by size, resolution, finish and touch, and by whether a webcam or bezel is included.

Matching a laptop screen
Panel or assembly
A raw panel is the LCD alone. An assembly adds the back cover, bezel and hinges, and sometimes the webcam and cables, which makes touch models simpler to fit.
Resolution and finish
HD (1366 x 768) and FHD (1920 x 1080) panels, anti-glare or glossy, often share a size but aren't always interchangeable without the matching cable.
Connector
eDP panels use 30-pin or 40-pin connectors, while older LVDS panels use different cabling. The connector has to match the laptop's display cable.
Touch screens
Touch panels are usually sold with the glass and LCD as one unit, because the digitizer is bonded to the display.

Frequently asked questions
Can I upgrade from an HD to a Full HD screen?
Sometimes. If the laptop was sold with both options, the FHD panel may need a different display cable or a matching system board, and the service manual lists which parts change.
What causes lines or flicker on a laptop screen?
Vertical lines and color patches usually mean a failing panel. Flicker that changes as you move the lid often points to the display cable instead, which costs less to replace.
Do screens come with the bezel and webcam?
Only assemblies do, and the listing says so, as with the ProBook 4540s screen with webcam. Raw panels reuse your existing bezel and camera.
