Buying guide

Ordering a printer control panel

  1. Model variant

Panels within one series can differ between base, duplex, network and fax models. The LaserJet P3015 duplex models, for example, take their own panel.

  2. Language overlays

Some panels ship with an English overlay or bezel, while others take a separate overlay for your language.

  3. Assembly or board

Some listings are complete assemblies with bezel and cable; others are the panel board alone or a single button board. Compare with the part that failed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my printer's control panel part number?

Read the number on the old panel, or use the printer's model and product number from the label on the back or inside the front door with HP's parts list. Duplex, fax and network variants often use different panels.

Will I lose printer settings when I replace the panel?

No. Settings are stored on the printer's formatter board, not the panel, so they carry over.

What causes an unresponsive control panel?

A loose or damaged ribbon cable between the panel and the formatter is a common cause, so check it before replacing the panel. A completely dark panel can also point to the formatter or the power supply.
