Description

The Accortec SMCBGSLCX1-ACC is a Bi-Directional (BiDi) SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) transceiver module engineered to enable 1 Gigabit Ethernet communication over a single strand of single-mode fiber (SMF). This design conserves fiber resources by allowing simultaneous transmission and reception of data using different wavelengths on the same fiber core. This makes it a highly efficient and cost-effective solution, particularly in scenarios where fiber cable deployment is constrained or expensive. This BiDi transceiver operates by employing two distinct wavelengths, commonly 1310nm for transmitting and 1550nm for receiving, or vice versa. To establish a functional link, it must be paired with another BiDi transceiver that has complementary wavelength assignments at the opposite end of the fiber optic cable. For instance, a module transmitting at 1310nm must be connected to a module receiving at 1310nm. The module is designed for single-mode fiber and supports standard reach distances of up to 10 kilometers, suitable for enterprise backbone links or metro network applications. Adherence to industry standards, including SFF-8472 for SFP modules, ensures broad compatibility with network equipment. The SMCBGSLCX1-ACC integrates Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) functionality, providing network administrators with real-time insights into critical operational parameters such as optical transmit and receive power, module temperature, and supply voltage. This diagnostic capability is invaluable for network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. The LC simplex connector is standard for single-fiber connections.
