Networking Accessories
Networking Accessories is largely made of plug-in modules for specific systems: HP 2920 two-port 10GbE SFP+ modules, Moonshot uplink modules with QSFP+ and SFP+ ports, 1GbE switch mezzanine modules for blade servers, 16-port RS-232 modules and MSR voice processor modules. These parts add ports or functions to an existing switch, router or chassis, so the host model is what decides compatibility.

Adding ports to existing gear
Host-specific
An uplink or expansion module is built for one switch or chassis family. The 2920's 10GbE module, for example, doesn't fit other ProCurve series.
Optics separate
SFP+ and QSFP+ modules usually ship without transceivers. Order optics or DAC cables for the new ports.
Firmware level
The host switch or chassis may need a firmware update before it recognizes a newer module.

Frequently asked questions
Does an SFP+ uplink module include the transceivers?
Usually not. The module provides the ports; you add SFP+ optics or direct-attach cables separately.
What is a switch mezzanine module?
A card that goes into a blade server's mezzanine slot to connect it to the enclosure's switch or pass-through modules.
