Memory Boards

Memory Boards holds the boards that DIMMs mount on in larger servers, rather than the DIMMs themselves. You'll find 24- and 48-slot carrier assemblies and expansion boards for HP Integrity rx3600 and rx6600 servers, 12-slot memory cartridges for the ProLiant DL580 Gen8, expansion risers for the DL580 and DL980 G7, processor and memory boards for the DL585 G5, and Dell memory risers for the PowerEdge 6800 and 6850. A few Smart Array cache boards are filed here as well.

Buying guide

Buying memory boards

  1. Model and generation

Boards are built for one server family and generation. DL580 G5, G7 and Gen8 memory boards, for example, are all different.

  2. Slot counts vary

Integrity carriers come in several slot counts for the same server, so check which one your configuration calls for.

  3. Population rules

DIMMs on these boards usually go in pairs or larger groups in a set order across boards. Follow the server's memory population guide.

Frequently asked questions

Does a memory board come with DIMMs installed?

Not unless the listing says so. These are sold as the board or carrier; the memory modules are ordered separately.

Do I need a memory board for every processor?

In four-socket ProLiant servers such as the DL580, each memory cartridge or riser connects to one processor and only works when that processor is installed. Plan boards and processors together.

How do I find the right board for my server?

Use the spare or option part number printed on the board you have. If it isn't readable, the server model and generation narrow the choice down to one or two boards.
