The Transition SPOEB1013-100-TC is a specialized media converter that combines the functionality of a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet media converter with Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities. It allows for the conversion of data signals between a 100Base-TX copper Ethernet connection (supporting both UTP and STP cables) and a 100Base-FX multimode fiber optic connection via an SC connector. The key feature is its ability to inject PoE power onto the copper Ethernet cable, enabling the operation of Powered Devices (PDs) such as IP cameras, wireless access points, or VoIP phones without the need for separate power outlets at the device's location. This converter supports standard PoE protocols, typically IEEE 802.3af and/or IEEE 802.3at, delivering sufficient power (up to 15.4W or 30W respectively) to the connected PD. This significantly simplifies network deployment in locations where power access is limited or inconvenient. The fiber optic port extends the network reach up to 2 kilometers, while the copper port adheres to the standard 100-meter Ethernet distance limitation. The SPOEB1013-100-TC is an unmanaged device, designed for straightforward plug-and-play installation. It features LED indicators for monitoring power, link status, and activity on both copper and fiber ports, as well as PoE status. It is powered by an external power adapter, which also supplies the power for the PoE output.
