The Planet POE-161S is a versatile networking accessory that combines the functionality of a Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) injector with a data splitter. It is designed to simplify network installations by delivering both data and electrical power through a single Ethernet cable, adhering to IEEE 802.3at/af standards. This allows for the deployment of network devices such as IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones in locations where power outlets are not readily available. The device features two Gigabit Ethernet ports. One port acts as the PoE+ injector, receiving data and power from a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) and outputting both data and up to 30W of power to a connected Powered Device (PD). The second port functions as a data splitter, taking the combined data and power signal and separating them. It outputs only the data signal to a non-PoE device, while the power is directed towards the PD connected to the injector port. This dual functionality makes the POE-161S particularly useful for extending network reach and simplifying cabling. It eliminates the need for separate power adapters for PoE-compatible devices and allows for flexible placement of network equipment. Its compact design and plug-and-play operation make it an easy-to-implement solution for upgrading existing networks or deploying new devices efficiently.
