The HP J9836AS#ABA, part of the 2920 series, is a high-performance, fully managed Layer 3 switch designed for enterprise edge and distribution layer deployments. It offers 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports, each capable of delivering Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), providing up to 30W per port to power devices like IP phones, wireless access points, and security cameras. This extensive PoE+ capability simplifies network infrastructure by eliminating the need for separate power supplies for connected devices. In addition to the 48 copper ports, the switch is equipped with 4 SFP uplink ports, allowing for flexible connections to higher-tier network devices or for creating redundant uplinks using fiber optic or other SFP module types.
