What does 42U mean?
Rack height in rack units. One U is 1.75 inches (44.45mm), so a 42U rack holds 42 1U servers or 21 2U servers, before leaving room for switches, patch panels and blanking.
What's a shock rack?
A rack built and certified to ship with equipment already installed, on a shock-absorbing pallet. Standard racks are meant to ship empty and be loaded on site.
