Product Description
The Ubiquiti NanoStation M NSM5-US is a compact and versatile 5GHz wireless device designed for various outdoor and indoor networking applications. As an airMAX product, it utilizes Ubiquiti's proprietary Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) protocol, airMAX, which significantly improves network performance by reducing latency and increasing throughput compared to standard Wi-Fi protocols. This device features an integrated dual-polarity antenna and two 10/100Base-TX Ethernet ports. One port is used for network connectivity, while the other, often used for PoE (Power over Ethernet) pass-through, can be utilized to power a secondary device like a surveillance camera. The inclusion of PoE simplifies installation by allowing a single cable to carry both power and data. The NanoStation M is well-suited for establishing point-to-point (PtP) or point-to-multipoint (PtMP) links, serving as a CPE for wireless internet service, or extending network coverage. Its robust design allows it to operate reliably in various environmental conditions, making it a popular choice for WISP deployments and enterprise network extensions.
