This module supports 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40GbE) connectivity, leveraging four independent 10Gb/s transmit and receive channels to achieve its aggregate speed. It is specifically engineered for short-reach (SR4) applications over multimode fiber (MMF). The transceiver utilizes an 850nm VCSEL (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) array for its optical transmission. It connects to the network via an MPO/MTP (Multi-fiber Push On/Pull Off) connector, which is standard for parallel optics, accommodating the multiple fiber strands required for its four lanes.
