Description
The Linksys WAG54GX2 Wireless-G ADSL2/2+ Router with SRX200 is the all-in-one solution for Internet connectivity. The ADSL 2.0 Modem function gives you a blazing fast connection to the Internet, far faster than a dial-up, and without tying up your phone line. The Router function lets share your high-speed Internet connection with all the PCs in the house. Share files, printers, hard drive space, and other resources by connecting your computers to the Linksys WAG54GX2 via the built-in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch. Attach four wired PCs directly, or connect more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Or, use the built-in Access Point in the Linksys WAG54GX2 to connect up to 32 wireless devices to your network without running cables through the building. New SRX200 technology starts with standards-based Wireless-G (802.11g) but overlays the signals of two radios. This "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology effectively doubles the data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range (up to twice as far) and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. And the farther away you are, the more advantage you get -- the higher data rate and reflection-friendly technology can yield up to 6 times more throughput than Wireless-G in some situations. Even your standard Wireless-G and -B equipment will work better when communicating with SRX-enabled devices. Wi-Fi Protected Access™ (WPA) protects your data and privacy with up to 128-bit industrial-strength encryption and 802.1x authentication and authorization. The Linksys WAG54GX2 also has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
