Product Description
The HPE R6L59A, part of the Smartoptics D260 series, is a high-performance SFP28 transceiver module designed for 32Gbps and 16Gbps Fibre Channel (FC) applications. It leverages Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, allowing multiple channels to be transmitted over a single fiber optic strand by using different wavelengths of light. This significantly increases the data carrying capacity of existing fiber infrastructure. This module is specified for a reach of up to 10 kilometers (approximately 6.2 miles) over single-mode fiber, making it suitable for longer-distance storage area network (SAN) connections, data center interconnects, or metro area network deployments. The use of DWDM requires a compatible DWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer system at both ends of the fiber link. The R6L59A features an LC connector, the standard for small form-factor fiber optic transceivers, ensuring a secure and reliable connection. It is designed for compatibility with HPE storage and networking equipment that supports SFP28 DWDM transceivers, providing a robust solution for high-speed, long-reach storage networking.
