The HPE JD559AR is a Smart Interface Card Module featuring a single Foreign Exchange Office (FXO) port. This module is designed to be installed in compatible HPE MSR (Modular Switch Router) series routers, enabling them to interface directly with traditional analog telephone lines. An FXO port connects to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) system, allowing the router to act as a voice gateway. By incorporating the JD559AR, an MSR router can be used to make and receive traditional voice calls over analog lines.
