The HP JD311A is a compact and cost-effective network switch from the HP 3100 Series, designed to provide essential network connectivity and Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities for small to medium-sized businesses. This model features eight 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports, all of which support the IEEE 802.3af standard for PoE. This allows the switch to simultaneously provide network connectivity and electrical power to compatible devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, and security cameras, simplifying installation and reducing the need for separate power adapters. In addition to the eight PoE-enabled copper ports, the JD311A includes one SFP combo port. This combo port can be used either as an additional 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 port or as an SFP port for connecting to network backbones or other switches using fiber optic transceivers, offering flexibility in network design.
