Product Description
The HP J9019-69101, also known as the HP 2510-24, is a 24-port Fast Ethernet Layer 2 managed switch. It is designed to provide reliable network connectivity and essential management features for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and enterprise workgroups. The switch offers 24 auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for connecting end devices, along with two dedicated Gigabit SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) ports for high-speed uplinks to the network core or other switches. As a Layer 2 switch, its primary function is to forward traffic based on MAC addresses within a single network segment or VLAN. However, being a managed switch, it provides advanced capabilities beyond unmanaged switches. These include support for Virtual LANs (VLANs) to segment the network logically, Quality of Service (QoS) to prioritize traffic, and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) to combine multiple links for increased bandwidth and redundancy. The J9019-69101 features a switching capacity of 5.6 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 4.1 million packets per second, making it suitable for typical SMB network traffic demands. Management is accessible via a user-friendly web-based graphical user interface (GUI) or a command-line interface (CLI), offering flexibility for network administrators. Its design also incorporates Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) to reduce power consumption when network traffic is low, contributing to operational cost savings.
