Description
The EMC 100-562-124 is an integral part of the EMC CLARiiON CX storage family, specifically serving as a Disk Array Enclosure (DAE) expansion unit. This component is designed to augment the storage capacity of existing CLARiiON CX systems by providing additional bays for hard drives. It connects to the main CLARiiON storage controller via a 4Gb Fibre Channel interface. Fibre Channel is a high-speed networking technology primarily used in storage area networks (SANs), offering high bandwidth and low latency, which are critical for enterprise storage performance. The 4Gbps speed indicates a specific generation of Fibre Channel technology. By adding this DAE expansion, organizations can increase their storage footprint without needing to replace their entire storage system. This makes the 100-562-124 a cost-effective solution for growing storage needs within environments already utilizing EMC CLARiiON CX storage infrastructure.
