The DSL-G624M wireless 108G MIMO ADSL router is a high-speed, high-connectivity ADSL router. This router provides an integrated ADSL2/2+ modem supporting up to 24Mbps download speed, as well as high-performance wireless LAN with up to 108Mbps data rates and an extended signal coverage that is 8 times better than the normal wireless LAN devices. Together with firewall protection and built-in 4-port switch, this router provides the performance, security and convenience for a home or office running high-bandwidth applications like audio/video streaming, on-line gaming and large file transfer over a wireless network. High-Speed ADSL Connection The DSL-G624M features the latest ADSL2/ADSL2+ standards, providing speeds of up to 24Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (ADSL2+), or 12Mbps downstream and 1Mbps upstream (ADSL2). This router auto-senses the connection type and auto-negotiates the best modulation scheme, using the G.hs (handshake) protocol. Extended Wireless Operation Range Radio signals typically reflect off objects, creating multiple paths that in conventional radios cause interference and fading. With multiple high Gain antennas, the DSL-G624M uses these paths to carry more information, which is recombined on the receiving side by the MIMO algorithms. As a result, this router reduces "dead" spots and distributes strong wireless signals across farther distances with enough bandwidth to stream multimedia content and transfer large files at far higher rates. Up to 108Mbps Wireless Speed The DSL-G624M doubles the spectral efficiency compared with the current wireless network. The maximum non-Turbo data transfer rate for 802.11g networks is 54Mbps, though actual throughput is typically closer to 20Mbps to 30Mbps. Enhanced by the Turbo mode, this router can boost the typical raw wireless speeds to 108Mbps, or a real throughput 15 times faster than that of 802.11b equipment. Firewall Protection The DSL-G624M provides firewall security using Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and hacker attack logging for Denial of Service (DoS) attack protection. SPI inspects the contents of all incoming packet headers before deciding what packets are allowed to pass through. Access control is provided with packet filtering based on port and source/destination MAC/IP addresses. With Virtual Server Mapping, the router can be set to allow separate FTP, Web, and multiple games to share the same Internet-visible IP address while still protecting your servers and workstations from hackers. You can configure any of the built-in LAN ports of the router to function as a DMZ port. VPN pass-through is provided to let mobile users access files and mail from offices to work at home without having to use complex VPN client software.
