Description
D-Links DFE-538TX Fast Ethernet adapter is a high-performance NWay 10/100Mbps adapter for the PCI bus that supports Wake-on-LAN. It turns a desktop into a high-bandwidth graphic/multimedia work-station or a power server running at full-duplex speed. The adapter operates in the 32-bit Bus Master mode, delivering throughputs at multi-megabits per second with little stress on the hosts CPU. Supporting PCI clock speeds independently of the network clock, it transfers data directly to/from the hosts memory, by-passing the CPU to alleviate the hosts workload. The adapters dual-speed interface allows users to migrate from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet in easy steps. 10BASE-T users can upgrade to 100BASE-TX anytime without changing driver software or network cables.
