The Brocade M-LHA is a Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) module, designed to provide 1 Gigabit per second (1Gb/s) network connectivity over single-mode fiber optic cables. GBIC modules were an earlier standard for network transceivers, offering a way to add fiber optic capabilities to network devices. The M-LHA module converts electrical signals from the network device into optical signals for transmission over fiber and vice versa, enabling communication over longer distances than copper cabling allows. This transceiver utilizes an SC connector, a common and robust connector type for fiber optics, known for its push-pull mating mechanism.
