Product Description
This Brocade QSFP28 transceiver module, model 100G-QSFP28-SR4, is built for high-density, high-performance networking environments, particularly within data centers. It delivers a substantial 100Gb/s throughput, leveraging the 100GBase-SR4 standard which employs parallel optics over multi-mode fiber. This configuration is optimized for short-reach interconnections, commonly used to link switches, servers, and storage devices within close proximity. The QSFP28 form factor is chosen for its ability to pack a high number of high-speed ports into a compact space, a critical factor for scalable and efficient data center infrastructure. The module operates at an 850nm wavelength and utilizes a Duplex LC connector, which is standard for SR4 interfaces, facilitating the four parallel transmit and four parallel receive lanes, each running at 25Gb/s. With a maximum transmission distance of 100 meters over OM4 multi-mode fiber (or 70 meters over OM3), the 100G-QSFP28-SR4 is perfectly suited for top-of-rack (ToR) and end-of-row (EoR) switch deployments, as well as high-performance computing (HPC) clusters and storage fabrics that demand extreme bandwidth over limited distances.
