The Addonics SFP1MBXDAO is a 1 Gigabit per second (Gb/s) Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver module that utilizes Bi-Directional (BiDi) technology. This advanced feature allows the module to transmit and receive data simultaneously over a single strand of fiber optic cable, effectively doubling the data capacity of existing fiber infrastructure or reducing the number of fiber strands required for new deployments. This makes it a cost-effective solution for extending network reach. This SFP module is equipped with an LC simplex connector, designed for a single fiber connection. It operates over single-mode fiber (SMF), which is ideal for long-distance communication. The BiDi technology works by using two different wavelengths for transmitting and receiving signals on the same fiber strand.
