Product Description
The Accortec SFP-CU-RJ45-ACC is a copper Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) module designed to provide Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gb/s) connectivity over standard copper twisted-pair cabling. This module adheres to the 1000Base-TX standard, which is the copper-based Ethernet specification for achieving Gigabit speeds over distances up to 100 meters using Category 5e (Cat5e) or Category 6 (Cat6) cabling. This SFP module allows network devices equipped with SFP slots, such as switches and routers, to connect to the network using traditional copper Ethernet infrastructure. It effectively converts the optical or high-speed electrical interface within the SFP slot to a standard RJ-45 interface, eliminating the need for separate media converters or dedicated copper ports in some scenarios. The RJ-45 connector ensures compatibility with standard Ethernet patch cables. The hot-pluggable nature of SFP modules means that the SFP-CU-RJ45-ACC can be inserted or removed from a network device without the need to power down the equipment, facilitating network upgrades and maintenance with minimal disruption. It is an essential component for providing flexible and cost-effective Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in environments where copper cabling is prevalent or preferred for shorter runs, such as within an office floor or between adjacent racks in a data center.
