HP solid state drives for your HP business notebook provide additional flexibility and expandability for your notebook by allowing you to store your data on a hard drive with no moving parts. - The HP 256 GB SED Solid State Drive* does not need to spin up or mechanically seek files like conventional hard disk drives do, significantly improving boot-up, shut down, and application loading times as well as overall application responsiveness. - Multi Level Cell (MLC) NAND flash memory supports faster transfer speeds and higher cell endurance than hard disk drives. - Native Command Queuing allows the drive to have several write or read commands outstanding at the same time. - Trusted Computing Group (TCG) Opal-compliant self-encryption offers enhanced data security and adds a layer of authentication security to your drive. - For hard drives, GB = 1 billion bytes. Actual formatted capacity is less. Up to 15 GB of system disk (for Windows 7) is reserved for system recovery software.
