Description
The Dell 6U937 is an external optical drive unit that combines CD-ROM reading capabilities with CD-RW writing functionality. It is designed for users who require portable or supplementary optical media access without needing an internal drive bay. The drive offers a CD-ROM read speed of 24X, allowing for quick access to data and audio from standard CD-ROMs. For writing purposes, it supports CD-RW media, enabling users to burn data onto rewritable CDs at speeds up to 16X and rewrite existing data at speeds up to 10X. This makes it suitable for tasks such as creating music CDs, backing up data, or transferring files. As an external unit, the 6U937 typically connects to a computer via a USB interface, ensuring broad compatibility with most modern desktop and laptop systems. It likely requires an external power adapter to operate, further emphasizing its standalone, external nature. This drive is a practical solution for systems that lack an internal optical drive or for users who need the flexibility of an external device.
