CD & DVD Burners covers writable optical drives: Compaq CD-RW drives with ratings like 12x/4x/32x and 48x/32x/48x, HP DVD+RW drives, and combo DVD/CD-RW drives made for ProLiant servers such as the DL145 G3. Most are IDE units from desktop and server generations that predate SATA optical drives, bought to keep a specific system complete or to write discs on older hardware.
